1. Age Eligibility and Declarations

DIScampus customer accounts are intended for people aged 18 or older.
For new signups, we record your age-eligibility declaration, its date and the applicable policy version. Existing customers are not asked to make this declaration, and it is not requested at login. This is a self-declaration; it does not verify your age. We do not collect a date of birth or identity document for this declaration.
If an age-eligibility concern is reported to support, the owner may review the account under our Terms & Conditions.
Restriction does not automatically delete your account or historical orders, payments, conversations and complaints. Records may be retained where reasonably necessary for resolving payments, safety matters, disputes and legal obligations, in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

Personal details you provide during signup (name, email, phone number).
Delivery details (addresses, instructions, location coordinates).
Order and payment details (items ordered, payment method, transaction reference).
Student-email verification records where you apply to use the Student Marketplace.
Technical information such as IP address, device type, and browser used.
If you use signed-in DIStudy, study subjects or intentions, session durations and timestamps, completion status, goals, display preferences, notification choices, and progress history.

To process and deliver your orders.
To contact you regarding your order status or support queries.
To improve our services and prevent fraudulent activity.
To comply with legal and financial obligations.
To run DIStudy, restore active timers, calculate private progress, display study history, remember preferences, and provide optional completion notifications.

The free guest timer stores its active end time and selected display preferences locally in the user’s browser. This information is not added to a DIScampus account unless the user signs in and uses the customer version.
Signed-in DIStudy records are linked to the customer’s account so sessions can continue across DIScampus pages, refreshes, sign-outs, and later visits.
Study subjects, intentions, goals, and history are private by default and are not displayed to other customers, restaurants, or drivers.
DIStudy information is retained while reasonably needed to provide progress and history features, protect the service, resolve support requests, and meet legal obligations. Customers may ask us to delete or correct eligible DIStudy information.
Browser and push notifications are optional. Notification permissions can be changed through the browser or device settings.

We process collection and delivery addresses, coordinates, contact names and phone numbers, handover instructions, package descriptions, service type, quoted fee, and delivery status.
For Store Pickup, we may process a store name, paid-order reference, collection time, authorization confirmation, and proof-of-payment image.
We record payment confirmation, assigned driver, status history, PIN-verification results, complaints, incidents, cancellation decisions, and refund records.
Proof images and private courier evidence are restricted to the customer, assigned courier, and authorized DIScampus staff where access is required.

We process student-email verification status separately from ordinary customer-account email verification.
We store listings, photos, revisions, prices, sale or lending choices, messages, offers, reports, moderation decisions, conversation controls, and account restrictions.
Listing information approved for publication is visible to verified marketplace users. Private conversations are visible to their participants and may be reviewed by authorized staff when reported or required for safety, support, or abuse prevention.
Moderation and security logs may record access checks, listing decisions, reports, blocks, and relevant technical information.

Restaurants receive your order and delivery details to prepare food.
Drivers receive your delivery address and phone number to complete delivery.
An assigned courier receives the pickup and drop-off information necessary to complete a Courier request.
Marketplace participants receive the public listing information and messages shared within their conversation.
Payment details are securely handled by our trusted payment provider, Payfast. We do not store card information.
Google Maps services may process address searches, coordinates, and technical information when maps or address suggestions are used.
DIStudy subjects, intentions, goals, and study history are not shared with restaurants or drivers for food delivery.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.

Your account password is stored using secure one-way hashing rather than in readable form.
Our systems use secure connections (SSL/HTTPS) to protect your data in transit.
Only authorized staff can access customer data where necessary.
Customers are responsible for keeping their login details private and must not share their account or personal information with others.
We respect your privacy and comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa.
We store data securely on encrypted servers hosted in compliance with South African and international privacy standards.

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
You may update or delete your account information at any time.
You may request deletion of eligible account information. We may retain records where reasonably required for payments, tax or legal obligations, safety, complaints, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of these terms.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of eligible DIStudy records linked to your account.

Our website may use cookies to remember your preferences and improve performance.
The free DIStudy timer uses browser local storage to remember its end time and display settings so it can recover after navigation or refresh.
Optional browser or push notifications may use device identifiers or subscription details. You can withdraw notification permission through your browser or device settings.
You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work properly.
